Case Studies - Practical applications in the field.
Converting & Coating Facility
A major coater of plastic film needed a large RTO to handle emissions comprising chlorinated solvents and conventional (non-halogenated) solvents. Chlorinated solvents, when oxidized at high temperatures, are converted to hydrogen chloride gas (HCl). When HCl is present, any moisture in the air flow would create hydrochloric acid. Failure to design properly for this would result in excessive corrosion and shortened life for any wetted metal surfaces.
Nail-Polish Enamel Manufacturer
A large manufacturer of nail-polish enamel installed the original oxidizer more than 30 years ago. The facility operated with only a single shift, requiring frequent startups and shutdowns. This took a toll on the heat exchanger tubes and expansion joints. Costly repairs and frequent unscheduled shutdowns were becoming a larger problem.
Roof Shingle Manufacturer
Existing two RTO canisters were unreliable, undersized and underperforming. Oxidizer was required to abate the emissions from their mat curing line. The equipment needed to be on site and operational within fifteen weeks.
